Prague is so easily within reach these days. With flights from budget airlines such as Easyjet sometimes costing less than £60 return per person and hotel deals often starting at less than £20 per night, a lovely cheap break is very achievable. We went on a fact finding mission to Prague last year and can report that it is a terrific place. Prices are still very reasonable and there is so much to see and do, from the stunning Gothic style castle, to the beautiful architecture and cobbled streets, it is a truly breathtaking place. Our research took us to a fabulous restaurant on the river, called Hergetova Cihelna – very stylish, terrific food and not too hard on the wallet, we’d highly recommend it.
Another fabulous place to visit around Christmas is Bruges, a charming little town in Belgium. Bruges is famous for its chocolates and you will definitely need to allow plenty of time to visit the many shops that sell utterly delicious handmade chocolates. They come packaged in delightful little boxes and make perfect Christmas gifts, or luxury treats.
Visit Santa Claus
Of course, the ultimate short break has to be a visit to Father Christmas and this must be something that everyone has wanted to do at some point in their life! If you still have this desire, or simply have children that would be delighted by such a trip, do check out the Lapland holiday deals it could be the trip you’ve always dreamed of.
Have fun!
